Off-Roading Features and Capabilities for the 2024 Pathfinder
The Pathfinder is available with a Front-Wheel Drive or Intelligent 4×4 drivetrain. The front-wheel-drive drivetrain is paired with five Drive and Terrain modes to customize your driving experience on and off the road. Pathfinder models with an Intelligent 4×4 system have a Drive and Terrain Mode dial selector with seven modes to choose from.
To complement the drivetrain, the base Pathfinder has a nine-speed automatic transmission with an optional Manual driving mode, an electronic shifter, and paddle shifters. This drivetrain is matched with a 3.5L V6 engine capable of generating 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque.
Suspension
The base Pathfinder S has an excellent suspension system to make off-road travel a breeze. This trim has an independent strut front suspension, an independent multi-link rear suspension, stabilizer bars, and Dual Flow Path® shock absorbers. The Rock Creek trim has an off-road-tuned suspension.
Exterior Features
Off-road driving is easier when your vehicle has the right exterior features to handle difficult terrain. The S trim comes with 18-inch Dark aluminum alloy wheels, all-season tires, and intelligent automatic headlights. This model also has LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights.
The highest trim level, Platinum, has key off-road exterior features such as 20-inch machine-finished wheels, roof rails, and a seven-pin tow hitch receiver with a wiring harness. This model also has a motion-activated liftgate, a panoramic moonroof, and heated power outside mirrors with reverse tilt-down and integrated LED turn signals.
Capacities
The Pathfinder S has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. This model has an eight-passenger seating capacity and an interior passenger volume of 148.5 cubic feet. The S trim offers 16.6 cubic feet of space with the rear seats upright and 80.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
However, for towing capacity, the 2024 Pathfinder when properly equipped offers a 6,000-lb towing capacity on SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum trims.
Convenience
To make your off-road travels more comfortable, the Pathfinder S has standard features such as tri-zone automatic temperature control, a tilting and telescopic steering wheel column, and additional under-floor cargo area storage.
