Versa vs. Sentra Comparison

Performance and Fuel Economy

The Sentra gets an EPA-estimated maximum of 29 city and 39 highway miles per gallon, compared to that of 32 city and 40 highway mpg for the Versa. However, it gets 149 horsepower compared to 122 horsepower for the smaller Versa.

Both sedans come with front-wheel drive. A continuously variable transmission, which operates like an automatic, is standard in the Sentra and optional in the Versa. The latter comes equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.

Cabin Comfort

These five-seater vehicles offer similar headroom and legroom for passengers, although the Versa technically falls into the subcompact car category because of its shorter, more narrow body. However, it’s also a bit taller than the compact Sentra.

The two cars also have similar cargo capacity (14.3 cubic feet for the Sentra, and 15.0 cubic feet for the Versa). You can swap out the standard second-row bucket seats in the Versa for a bench, an option you won’t find with the Sentra.

Tech Features

The Sentra comes with standard keyless start and a rear sonar system, unlike the Versa. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard in the Sentra, which has a 7-inch touchscreen in the base model and an 8-inch touchscreen in the two higher trims. Smartphone connectivity is an optional feature in the Versa, which also has both a 7-inch and 8-inch touchscreen available.

Safety Features

Both cars come with an array of standard driver assistance equipment, including a rearview camera, brake assist, electronic stability control, and lane departure warning. The Sentra also includes a standard blind spot monitor as an advanced safety feature for you to enjoy.
