Trim Levels (Exterior)
Although firm details aren't available about the trim levels of the 2023 Nissan ARIYA, buyers can expect to have access to one well-equipped trim level of this sporty electric SUV. The photos released so far showcase a large front grille, aggressive lighting, and a body style that sits low to the ground. Nissan refers to the unique look of the ARIYA as “timeless Japanese futurism.” Two details that have been confirmed about the exterior features include standard 20-inch wheels and optional two-tone exterior paint, which comes in six color schemes.
Engine (Power)
Although the 2023 Nissan ARIYA is a fully electric SUV, it does offer two battery levels. The first will come standard and include a single motor that sends power to the front wheels. It includes a 65-kWh battery with the electric motor, delivering a combined output of 215 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.
The upgraded battery option includes a 90-kWh battery paired with the e-4ORCE dual-motor all-wheel drive system that is currently in use in the Nissan Leaf. This powertrain puts out 335 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, which makes the ARIYA a serious contender in terms of power and performance. The longer range of the larger battery pack takes the single charge drive capacity to 300 miles.
Performance
The ARIYA will be one of the quickest electric models in its segment, with speed test reports of the SUV going from zero to 60 mph in just about five seconds. This model also features the torque-split system in use in the Nissan GT-R sports car, which is what allows for all-wheel drive and improved handling. According to Nissan, the ARIYA can come to a complete stop without the use of the brake pedal, thanks to its regenerative braking system.
Some of the powertrain elements were developed under the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, so it's no surprise that the performance of this model is quite impressive. Another appealing element of the vehicle is its quick-charge battery, which can go from 5% to 80% in less than 60 minutes.
Interior
The cabin of the 2023 ARIYA aligns with the concept of timeless Japanese futurism. Innovative drivers love the look and feel of the spacious and tech-heavy interior, which includes dual 12.3-inch display screens connected to the infotainment system to stay connected and entertained. Integrated navigation, a digital gauge cluster, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay smartphone integration also come standard in the ARIYA. Safety Features
