Trim Levels (Exterior)
Five trims are available: S, SV, SR, SL, and SR-VC-Turbo. The front-wheel drivetrain is available for all trims, while the SV, SR, and SL have an intelligent all-wheel drivetrain. All trims have 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers and P215/60HR16 all-season tires. Other features include active grille shutters, intelligent auto headlights, LED projector headlights with LED signature daytime running lights, dual power outside mirrors, a chrome V-motion grille, chrome door handles, and a body-color rear diffuser.
Engine (Power)
All trims have a standard 2.5-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine producing 188 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 180 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). An optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is also available that generates 248 horsepower with premium fuel and is also paired with a CVT. The engine constantly adapts to provide an optimum balance between power and efficiency based on your driving situation.
Performance
The intelligent all-wheel-drive system available on certain trim levels monitors road conditions continuously and helps you respond to changes faster. This system sends power to the front wheels to enhance fuel economy in normal driving conditions. When the system detects your need for optimal traction and responsiveness, it automatically distributes power among all four wheels. The active brake limited slip system controls wheel slippage by using the vehicle's braking system to improve traction by transferring power to the wheel with the most grip.
The hill start assist gives you time to switch from the brakes to the accelerator and prevents you from rolling backward by holding brake pressure for a few seconds. Its active ride control automatically applies brakes and adjusts engine torque to ensure a smooth ride. The intelligent trace control reads every situation and can even apply brakes on each wheel to ensure smooth steering through the corners. An automatic brake hold maintains braking force, even when your foot is not on the brake
Interior
The Altima has a refined interior design with matte-chrome tone accents. You can settle into comfortable and luxurious leather-appointed seats. The steering wheel is also leather-wrapped and can be heated on cold mornings. Other features include dual-zone automatic temperature control, zero gravity front seats, rear door alert, ample trunk space with about 15.9 cubic feet of cargo room, 60/40-split rear seat, a remote engine start system with intelligent climate control, and heated front seats. You can also add your personal touch with Altima interior accessories.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and high beam assist. Other Altima safety features are intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent lane intervention, intelligent driver alertness, traffic sign recognition, anti-lock braking system, and advanced braking. The intelligent around-view monitor provides a 360-degree view to help in tight parking spaces.
