2023 Nissan ARIYA vs. Tesla Model Y

Overview

If you're shopping for an all-electric vehicle, you have more options than ever, making the selection process somewhat confusing. Maybe you're trying to decide between the 2023 Nissan ARIYA and the Tesla Model Y. While both vehicles have a lot in common, compare them closely, and the Nissan ARIYA comes out on top.

Power and Performance

The Tesla Model Y Performance model can put out 450 horsepower and 471 pound-feet of torque and has a 303-mile driving range. While the ARIYA's standard output is only 214 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, it does give you a driving range of 300 miles. If you're willing to pay for an upgrade, you can get a Model Y with a 316-mile driving range, but with only a 13-mile difference, that isn't much bang for your buck.

Tech & Connectivity

Inside the Nissan ARIYA, you'll find dual 12.3-inch screens, a brand-new digital instrument panel, an infotainment system featuring automated driving functions, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an onboard voice assistant. The ARIYA's ProPilot Assist 2.0 is an upgraded version of Nissan's driver assistance suite, full of features designed to make your drive less stressful. Unfortunately, the Model Y doesn't get any new connectivity features in its latest model. Plus, the Model Y's cabin feels cramped and boxy compared to the ARIYA's sleek and spacious cabin. The ARIYA's cabin feels so roomy because the battery sits low in the chassis instead of taking up passenger or cargo space.

Exterior Design

As soon as you see the 2023 Nissan ARIYA, you can't help but notice how its sloping roof gives it a bold and dramatic silhouette. This eye-catching design also improves the vehicle's aerodynamics, making it the ideal blend of form and function. A V-shaped grille teams up with angled LED lights to create a futuristic front end, while blade-like wheels look like they're constantly in motion even when the ARIYA is standing still. To complete the ARIYA's unique appearance, Nissan gives it an all-new illuminated logo, proudly displayed on the grille. While the Model Y features slightly angled headlights, its front end isn't as aggressive as the ARIYA's, and it really doesn't have any noticeable design upgrades. If you enjoy turning heads, the ARIYA is more likely to get the job done than the plainer Model Y. As you can see, there's a lot to love about the 2023 Nissan ARIYA, especially when you compare it to the Tesla Model Y. Test-drive the ARIYA today to experience this exciting all-electric vehicle for yourself.
